Limo Luck and My New Wedding Photography Hook-Up

Recently, I attended a friend’s wedding, which really got me interested in the pursuit of wedding photography. In all the posts I have written for Megapixelicio up until now, I have been confused about the kind of photography I want to do. Well this past weekend, I totally got my answer.

Turns out, the limo driver for my friend and his new bride also happens to be a good friend of theirs. More importantly, this guy chauffeurs A LOT of weddings, and just so happens to know a lot of wedding photographers. We got to talking a lot (and of course had been drinking lol,) and I now have a connection with some of the biggest photographers in the area.

Kyle the limo driver is actually the owner of the limo company my friend used, Nashville TN Limo Services, so it’s not hard at all for me to believe that he knows a lot of photographers, let alone other people in the area. I can’t believe how much I now have my foot in the door.

Kyle told me that the photographers he knows are mostly pretty cool, and shouldn’t have a problem taking me under their wing. I guess when you drive a limousine, it’s easy to feel like the cool cat in town, and have few problems making connections. Heck, I haven’t even mentioned all the celebrities Kyle has had the luxury of lounging in his limo.

To Make a Long Story Short

You never know what kind of connection you are going to make when you step foot out of your home for the day.

Who knew that a ride in a random limo would turn into such a great gateway for my future? From now on, I will always keep that day in mind, and remain open to staying positive and just flowing with what life has to offer on a daily basis.

Not only do I have a new career in the works someday soon, I have a great new friend – and not because he happens to be the owner of his own limo company and knows a lot of really cool people. Haha.

Life is good.

How to Find Professional Photography Jobs

I told you guys in my last post that I was to study some of the different types of photography, remember? Well, let me just say that getting on YouTube was resourceful at first until I got totally distracted! Of course I got caught up watching some random cat videos but when I eventually transitioned back to my photography research, I came across this gem.

Ha, ok, not so much the crazy looking guy in the video, no. The real gem is that is in the video.

This dude provided some pretty pimp information about getting professional photography jobs, which I’m not sure if I’m ready for or not but when I am, it will be epic information to have.

I have subscribed to his channel to get more updates, but I would suggest that anyone else looking to do the same thing check out his shit as well.

I’m sure that everyone could use new photography jobs, even if you are an established professional, I mean unless you have a base of repetitive clients. I just wanted to post this video to share because it was so helpful. So, I hope you guys enjoyed it and will leave me with some feedback to let me know what other types of content you want to see.

Deciding Which Type of Photography to Pursue

I love all types of photography but I feel like to should work on mastering only one area at a time until I get a better grip on things. I just feel that this way I won’t have my attention all over the place and I can be more relaxed while I study each type at one time.

This is the order of my favorite types of photography:

  • Outdoor/Nature
  • Wedding
  • Children/Infants/Toddlers
  • Family
  • Pets – mostly just cats and dogs for calendar shoots
  • Night Photography

And there you have it. Seeing it written down for once is kind of crazy, ha.

It looks like a lot, which is exactly why I need to focus on only one at a time. Can you see me trying to study up on all of these at one time? I don’t either. I’m not the type can can handle many challenges at once so that probably wouldn’t ┬ábe smart.

If you can’t tell, I want to be a professional photographer for a living. I don’t see myself quitting any time soon to pursue this because I know nothing about business and at this point in time, I also don’t know much about the specifics of photography. This is something that I need to work on but first I need to find someone to teach me.

I guess for now I am just going to start with some searches on good old Google and go from there. I’m sure there are plenty of cool people out there that have put out free information on the different subjects so I’m sure if I looked hard enough, I would be very pleased with what I find. I guess I am off to do that now and I really have the urge to since I have been sitting here talking about it so much. See you all later! Come back and visit me again!

Hey! Welcome to My Blog!

Glad you found Megapixelicio! I’m Mario and this place is my space to share my thoughts and creativity. This is my first time blogging after hearing people online talk about it so much. I finally gave in and decided to try blogging, so this is where I am at so far.

Photography is my passion so I thought that starting a blog that discusses the subject would be a great place to start. I hope to find other people that are interested in the same subject so that I can finally have someone to talk about it with. I don’t have any friends that are interested in photography so finding people online that are seems to be my best bet if I want to dish on the subject. At least at that point I will be able to completely geek out lol. So if any of you out there reading would like to get together and talk well I would be all for it!

Just wanted to take the time to give you a warm and personal welcome to Megapixelicio. You won’t be disappointed with what I have to say here and if you are well oh well, I probably didn’t want to talk to you much anyways. Only the cool kids are allowed here. More on that next time.

Peace. Love. Photography
